The John Barleycorn is one of the most attractive pubs for many a mile since it underwent a major refurbishment in 2003. Licensees Carl & Pauline Yardley now invite you to visit them and sample some of their superb home cooked food in extremely pleasant surroundings.

Nothing was left to chance following the 'refit' in 2003, everything looks just right and the attention to detail has resulted in a superb pub-restaurant. The only thing that has been retained from the old pub is the wonderful relaxing atmosphere which made the John Barleycorn so popular in previous years.
 

The smaller of the two bars is very attractive with a low ceiling and exposed oak beams. It's cosy and very popular at lunchtimes.
The main bar - dining area is extremely large and can cater for upwards of 100 covers.

This room can be hired for both business and private functions. With it's close proximity to the M11 and a very large Car-Park it could be just the venue you've been looking for to host that special occasion.
 

From the bar you can enjoy a good selection of popular brand name beers and lagers plus a couple of Real Ales in the form of Greene King IPA and Old Speckled Hen.

The menus are supported by a first class wine list which can be viewed below along with a sample menu.

The pub also has a lovely garden with an array of picnic style benches with large parasols scattered across the patio and lawns. It really is a most attractive setting and the whole place is certainly worth the visit and one that should be made in the near future.
